“Gone But Not Forgotten”

I was there when you were born and the minute I held your little body next to my cheek, it was love at first sight. I never dreamed the hold you would have on the hearts of us all. You were my companion and protector, by my side through untold family emergencies, absorbed my tears and my sorrows; shared my joys and were a big part in our triumphs.

You were the smartest animal I have ever been privileged to train and are the standard for all who have come since. You were gentle, patient, loving and loyal. You wore many hats within our family; companion and assistance dog to my husband, who I am sure you are helping again. To all of the children of the family you were playmate, protector, and shining example of what training could do. To the kennel you were boss, stud, nursemaid, surrogate mother and discipline enforcer.

Your love and loyalty are missed every day and though other dogs have come and gone, there is a piece of our hearts that only you will ever hold. We miss you, Falcor, rest well dear boy, you deserve it.

CAN CH Woodsides Calgary v Stoneway

November 18, 2004 to June 10, 2007
“Forever in our Hearts”

We purchased Calgary as a two-year-old from Woodside Shepherds in Canada in March of 2007.  He was a wonderful dog… intelligent, loyal, beautiful and graceful.  He adapted instantly to our family and my children fell in love with him.

He was a spirited dog with a playful personality who wanted nothing more than to be with the family at all times and tolerated my young children as only a German Shepherd could.  His favorite game was to chase the kids and pull on their towels after bath time and the squeals, laughter and playful barking could be heard throughout the house.

On June 10, 2007 my heart was broken, never to be quite whole again, when I returned from work to find Calgary had died of torsion while I was away.  I have yet to find a dog that I love nearly so much, even for the short time he was with us.   He is forever in our hearts.
